Official says Ukraine lost 320 tanks, 9,800 troops in Kherson Region over past six weeks

It was noted that reports about the success achieved by Ukrainian forces in the Kherson Region and their losses aren’t true

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. Kirill Stremousov, deputy acting governor of the Kherson Region, on Monday said Ukrainian armed forces have lost 9,800 troops and 1,590 pieces of equipment including 320 tanks in the Kherson Region over the past six weeks.

"If we are talking about how many unsuccessful attempts there have been over the past month and a half <...> only according to Defense Ministry bulletins, which we have also concentrated on in our information agenda today, Ukrainian Nazis lost about 320 tanks, about 250 IFVs, 542 armored fighting vehicles, 335 of those pickups with machine guns, <...> 36 aircraft and seven helicopters. In total, it’s more than 1,590 units of equipment in the Kherson Region alone. And about 9,800 professional soldiers, mercenaries were killed in action," he said on Channel One television.

Stremousov said reports about the success achieved by Ukrainian forces in the Kherson Region and their losses aren’t true.

"They are all fake, in fact," he said.

The official said "the situation [in the Kherson Region] is fully under control."

Stremousov earlier said that Ukrainian troops started advancing on October 15 in the Kherson Region. But he said Russian forces denied Ukraine any chance to conduct the offensive.

The Russian Defense Ministry on October 16 said that Ukraine had attempted to break through the Russian defense but Russia was able to hold its position in the Kherson Region.
