Russian troops strike over 220 Ukrainian military targets in past day

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 322 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 161 helicopters, 2,226 unmanned aerial vehicles, 380 surface-to-air missile systems, 5,753 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 869 multiple rocket launchers, 3,473 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,560 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of their special military operation in Ukraine

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops struck over 220 Ukrainian military targets in the past day in their special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Friday.

"In the past 24 hours, operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops hit two command posts, 63 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 156 areas," the spokesman said.

The strikes wiped out six Ukrainian ammunition and missile/artillery armament depots near the settlements of Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region, Krasnoye, Novosyolovka Pervaya in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye Region, Kalinovka and Novoaleksandrovka in the Nikolayev Region, the general specified.

Combat aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Su-24 bomber of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Nikolayev Region, Konashenkov reported.

"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Su-24 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force near the settlement of Bereznegovatoye in the Nikolayev Region," the spokesman said.

Russia’s precision strikes wiped out a Ukrainian army arsenal in Brody in the Lvov Region that stored Western-supplied weapons, Konashenkov reported.

"Long-range sea-based precision weapons struck an arsenal in the settlement of Brody in the Lvov Region that received and stored considerable stockpiles of armaments, military hardware and ammunition delivered by Western countries," the spokesman said.

Russian air defense forces shot down 15 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and destroyed 14 HIMARS and Olkha rockets in the past day in their special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.

"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities shot down 15 unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Novaya Tarasovka in the Kharkov Region, Poltava and Sofiyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Petrovskoye, Staromayorskoye, Nikolskoye and Kodema in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Energodar in the Zaporozhye Region, Respublikanets, Dmitrenko, Tomarino, Chaikino and Chkalovo in the Kherson Region and Tavricheskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk Region," the spokesman said.

"In addition, they shot down 14 rockets of the HIMARS and Olkha multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of the settlements of Tomarino, Otradokamenka, Novaya Kakhovka, Verovka and Vesyoloye in the Kherson Region," the general added.
