Russian air defenses repel Ukrainian army’s rocket strike on Kherson

Earlier, it was reported that the Russian air defenses presumably fired missiles in Kherson and at least five explosions sounded in the sky over the city

KHERSON, October 12. /TASS/. Russian air defenses repelled a Ukrainian rocket strike on Kherson on Wednesday morning, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the regional military-civilian administration, told TASS.

"Everything is normal and everything is under control. The air defenses are at work and everything is all right. There are constant attempts [by the Ukrainian military to deliver rocket strikes] but the air defenses do their work and everything explodes in the air," Stremousov said.

Smoke was seen in the area of the settlement of Kamyshany near Kherson, he said, adding that the consequences of the strike were not yet known.

A TASS correspondent reported earlier on Wednesday that the Russian air defenses presumably fired missiles in Kherson and at least five explosions sounded in the sky over the city. The regional emergency services later specified that the Ukrainian military had delivered a strike against the village of Kamyshany in the Kherson suburb and two rockets were shot down by the Russian air defenses.
