Elite Ukrainian special troops being trained to occupy Zaporozhye NPP — activist

Groups of up to 100-110 people with several months of training experience in Great Britain are engaged in the training program involving firearms, man-portable SAM weapons and Bayraktar TB2 attack drones

MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. Special troops, the elite of Ukraine’s armed forces, are being trained, by British experts, too, to occupy the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the chair of the We Are Together with Russia movement, Vladimir Rogov, told TASS.

"Ukraine’s special forces, the elite militants of [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky, have been regularly trained for combat coordination with the goal of crossing the Dnieper and landing on its bank to take a stronghold and occupy a large energy infrastructure facility. No doubt, they are aiming at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant," he said.

According to Rogov, groups of up to 100-110 people with several months of training experience in Great Britain are engaged in the training program involving firearms, man-portable SAM weapons and Bayraktar TB2 attack drones.

"All this shows that they have been making concerted efforts the results of which, I am afraid, we may see soon," Rogov warned. Dozens of self-propelled pontoons capable of reaching a speed of up to 20 kilometers per hour have been prepared for the operation, he added.

The Zaporozhye NPP, located in the city of Energodar, is controlled by Russian troops. It has repeatedly been targeted by Ukrainian forces of late. Ukrainian militants have also been attempting to land on the bank of an adjacent water reservoir. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the latest attempt to occupy the power plant was made before the arrival of an IAEA mission on September 1.
