Terrorist attack foiled in Melitopol by Russian National Guard

MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. Russian national guardsmen has thwarted a terrorist attack in Melitopol, having found and disarmed an explosive device, the Russian National Guard told TASS on Wednesday.

"Today Melitopol residents noticed a black [plastic] bag next to Apartment Building 110 on Pokrovskaya Street and reported it to the police. A bomb squad team of the Russian National Guard arrived at the scene," the spokesperson said.

The team examined the bag to find a homemade bomb equivalent to 400 grams of TNT.

"The improvised explosive device was disarmed on the scene and then handed over to the police to be added as physical evidence to the case of an attempted act of terrorism. At the moment, the search for those involved in the organization of the attack is underway," the press service added.
