Russia’s National Guard rejects reports of Kiev’s counter-offensive in Kherson area

Earlier, it was reported that the region’s authorities continued working at their workplaces and the defense was stable, despite some advance by Ukrainian armed formations, stressing that "everything is under control"

KHERSON, October 3. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military is unsuccessfully attempting to break through defenses in the Kherson Region but these attempts cannot be called a counter-offensive, Deputy Head of the Russian National Guard’s Branch for the Chechen Republic Colonel Sultan Rashayev told TASS on Monday.

"The Akhmat unit jointly with the Defense Ministry’s troops is holding the defense in several directions in forward areas. As for the counter-offensive, there are attempts to break through the defenses but I would not call it a counter-offensive. As soon as we receive an order to advance, we will show them what a counter-offensive is. They are just making attempts but they have no chances," the colonel stressed.

Deputy head of the Kherson regional military-civilian administration Kirill Stremousov said on Monday that the region’s authorities continued working at their workplaces and the defense was stable, despite some advance by Ukrainian armed formations, stressing that "everything is under control."
