Russian naval taskforce leaves Philippines in long-distance deployment

Russia’s Ambassador to the Philippines Maratov Pavlov visited the Russian warships during their business call at the port of Manila

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. A group of the Russian Pacific Fleet’s combat ships wrapped up its business call at the port of Manila in the Philippines in its long-distance deployment, the Fleet’s press office reported on Thursday.

"A naval taskforce of the Pacific Fleet made up of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov and the corvette Gremyashchiy has completed its business call and left the port of Manila in the Republic of the Philippines," the press office said in a statement.

Russia’s Ambassador to the Philippines Maratov Pavlov visited the Russian warships during their business call at the port of Manila, the press office said.

The Russian Navy’s business call was intended to maintain and develop naval cooperation with countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The Russian naval taskforce will continue accomplishing their long-distance deployment tasks, the Fleet’s press office reported.
