Over 21,000 people evacuated from Ukraine, DPR, LPR to Russia in past day

According to Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, 4,189 private cars crossed the Russian border in the past day and 299,388 since the beginning of the operation

MOSCOW, June 20. /TASS/. More than 21,000 people, including more than 3,300 children, were evacuated from dangerous regions in Ukraine, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia during the day, Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Monday.

"Despite the difficulties and obstacles created by Kiev, during the day, as many as 21,662 people, including 3,312 children, were evacuated from dangerous zones in various Ukrainian regions, and from the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics to Russia without any participation of Ukraine’s authorities," he said. "Since the beginning of the special military operation, as many as 1,980,826 people, including 314,318 children, have been evacuated."

According to Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, 4,189 private cars crossed the Russian border in the past day and 299,388 since the beginning of the operation.

He also said that more than 9,500 temporary accommodation centers continue to operate in Russian regions.

Nearly 400 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes were delivered to people in Ukraine’s Kherson region and the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics during the past day, Mizintsev said.

"Four humanitarian operations were conducted during the past day in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and in the Kherson region. A total of 393 tonnes of humanitarian aid were distributed among people," he said.

According to Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, since March 2, a total of 34,004.2 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes have already been delivered to Ukraine by Russia. As many as 1,193 humanitarian operations have been conducted.

He also said that four humanitarian operations were conducted in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, the Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions on June 20. As many as 614.5 tonnes of articles of daily necessity and food were delivered.

Russian mine disposal specialists have cleared of mines an area of 3,450 hectares in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Mizintsev said.

According to Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine, Russian specialists continue mine clearance operations in the DPR and LPR. "A total of 3,450.08 hectares, including 0.8 hectares during the past day, 35 buildings, including 13 socially important facilities, two bridges and 9.64 kilometers of motorways have been surveyed. As many as 28,698 explosive objects have been spotted and destroyed, including 15 during the past day," he said.
