Russia says its aerospace forces struck four M777 howitzer platoons provided by West

Russian air defenses also shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 plane near Kamyshevakha and a Mi-24 helicopter in the DPR

MOSCOW, June 18. /TASS/. Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov on Saturday said Russian aerospace forces struck 12 firing positions of Ukrainian artillery and mortars including M777 howitzers.

"High-precision air-launched missiles struck 12 firing positions of Ukrainian artillery and mortars including four platoons of Grad multiple launch rocket systems in the areas of Avdeyevka, Keramik, Zhelannoye and four platoons of 155-mm M777 howitzers in the areas of Lastochkino, Ocheretino, Vodyanoye, Zhelannoye of the Donetsk People's Republic," he said.

Konashenkov said that Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 plane near Kamyshevakha and a Mi-24 helicopter in the DPR.

"Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 plane near Kamyshevakha and a Mi-24 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force near Arkhangelskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," he said.
