SIMFEROPOL, June 18. /TASS/. A section of the Moscow-Simferopol highway was damaged in a shelling attack staged by Ukrainian troops at the city of Vasilyevka in the Zaporozhye region, a spokesman for the local military civil administration told TASS on Friday.

"The roadway (of the Moscow-Simferopol highway - TASS) has been damaged. A shell is right in the asphalt," he said, adding that the shelling was followed by fire near a gas station.

According to earlier reports, the city of Vasilyevka came under shelling by Ukrainian troops on Friday. Electricity transmission lines, dwelling houses and social infrastructure facilities were damaged. No immediate reports about casualties are available.
