TEHRAN, August 11. /TASS/. The new Iranian bill on the management of the Strait of Hormuz does not mention specific countries, but the issue of exemptions or benefits for Russia could be resolved through bilateral agreements, Abolfazl Zohrevand, a member of the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, told TASS.

"This issue could undoubtedly be settled and coordinated within the framework of bilateral relations or mutual agreements with Russia, China, or any other country, depending on the conditions. Our bill is comprehensive, which means that it does not mention any specific country or region," the lawmaker noted.

On August 6, the Fars news agency reported, citing an Iranian diplomat, that Iran and Oman are discussing the introduction of transit fees for vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The amount would depend on the services provided by Tehran and Muscat.
