Xi Jinping states confident growth in trade between China and Russia

The Chinese President expressed satisfaction that the eastern route of the China-Russia gas pipeline was brought to full capacity ahead of schedule

BEIJING, January 21. /TASS/. China and Russia maintain a confident trend of growth in bilateral trade, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a video conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Bilateral practical cooperation is steadily expanding, and a confident trend of growth in mutual trade continues," he said.

Xi Jinping also expressed satisfaction that the eastern route of the China-Russia gas pipeline was brought to full capacity ahead of schedule.

According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, the volume of Chinese-Russian trade in 2024 increased by 1.9% compared to 2023 and again reached a record high of $244.81 billion. Imports of goods from Russia to China over 12 months remained virtually unchanged and amounted to $129.32 billion. Exports from China to Russia increased by 4.1%, to $115.49 billion.
