MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. The fact that the Taliban (outlawed in Russia) government has not been recognized internationally is not an obstacle for the development of a comprehensive dialogue with Kabul, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday after talks with his visiting Pakistani counterpart, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Lavrov recalled that after taking power in Afghanistan, the Taliban had vowed to form an inclusive government. "And the world community is waiting for this to be done. Yes, it will have crucial significance in terms of the international recognition of this government, along with other things," he said.
"Nevertheless, we don’t consider the fact that there is no such government at this point as an obstacle for the development of a comprehensive dialogue with Kabul, with the Taliban, including in the interests of promoting this inclusive system," Lavrov stressed.
