Africa and Middle East account for 82% of Russia's wheat exports — agriculture minister

According to Oksana Lut, Egypt has held the top spot in terms of import volume for several years

SIRIUS, May 22. /TASS/. Countries in Africa and the Middle East account for 82% of Russian wheat exports, according to a presentation by Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut at the All-Russian Grain Forum.

Overall, more than 100 countries import Russian grain, while Russia’s share of global wheat exports stands at 20%.

According to the minister, Egypt has held the top spot in terms of import volume for several years. "Egypt is an essential partner for us. For our part, we always reaffirm our readiness to provide everything necessary to ensure Egypt's food security," Lut added.
