MOSCOW, January 3. /TASS/. Su-25 attack aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces have hit Ukraine’s strongholds and manpower in the Donetsk area with S-8 unguided artillery rockets, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.

"The crews of Su-25 attack aircraft hit strongholds and enemy manpower in the Donetsk area. The strike was carried out with S-8 unguided artillery rockets. The targets were attacked from an extremely low altitude of 25 meters," the ministry said.

The ministry noted that according to forward observers, all specified targets were successfully hit. The flight was conducted in a normal mode. The crews performed an anti-missile maneuver, released heat decoys and returned to base.

"We were ordered to destroy an enemy stronghold. We approached the area on time, hit the target, performed anti-missile maneuvering, returned to the airfield and landed," the Defense Ministry quotes one of the pilots as saying.
