CAIRO, November 23. /TASS/. Fighters of the Shiite movement Islamic Front for Iraqi Resistance attacked a US military base near Erbil International Airport in Iraq’s Kurdistan, the group said in a statement posted on its Telegram channel.
According to the movement, the shelling came as a response to "the crimes committed by [Israel] against the [Palestinian] people in the Gaza Strip" with the support of the United States. The group said that a drone was launched towards the base, which allegedly hit the intended target.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden warned that the country was ready to launch new strikes, if deemed necessary, against groups Washington believes are backed by Iran and responsible for attacks against US troops in the Middle East.
