US allocates too much money to UN, its agencies — Elon Musk

On February 4, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the UN Human Rights Council and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East

WASHINGTON, February 10. /TASS/. Elon Musk, who heads the newly created US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), said Washngton has been allocating too much money to the United Nations and its agencies.

"America provides way too much funding to the UN and associated entities," he wrote on the X social network.

On February 4, Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the United States from the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The American leader criticized the UN's activities, saying that the organization "has tremendous potential," but has not realized it yet. In addition, he believes that the UN is "not well-managed."

In his executive order, Trump also gave instructions to re-evaluate US participation in UNESCO within 90 days.
