MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. The US future president’s special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg is due to visit Kiev in early January, Vladimir Zelensky said in Brussels, the RBC-Ukraine reports.
"[The visit] will take place in early January. We are waiting for Mr. Kellogg. Then we'll talk about what he had in mind," Zelensky said when asked for a comment on Kellogg's words about the possibility of negotiations on the settlement of the conflict.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Kellogg was planning a visit to Kiev in January. The foreign tour will also take him to London, Paris and Rome. The agency’s sources also claimed that he would go to Moscow to gather information and not achieve any specific political goals.
On November 27, US President-elect Donald Trump nominated Kellogg to be his assistant and US special envoy for Ukraine and Russia. Kellogg favors a negotiated settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He suggested persuading Moscow and Kiev to resume the dialogue and freeze the current frontline.
