ROME, December 16. /TASS/. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will not change the route its experts take to get to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said.
"As of now, we have no plans [to change the route to the ZNPP]. We have a system and it is operating quite smoothly upon full consent of both parties, the Russian and Ukrainian. And we will continue working this way," he told TASS.
According to the IAEA chief, choosing a route is not merely about picking the shortest and most efficient one. "This is a matter of politics, diplomacy, and jurisdiction. We in the IAEA and myself as its directors must be neutral and impartial and cooperation from both Moscow and Kiev is very important for us," he said.
IAEA experts reach the ZNPP via Ukraine.
