BEIJING, February 14. /TASS/. Bright glowing lights were seen in the sky over the city of Qiqihar in China’s southeastern province of Heilongjiang on Monday evening, the Chinese Jimu Xinwen news portal reported on Tuesday.

According to the news portal, eyewitnesses said they saw a light high in the sky. The object reportedly left a fiery trail as it moved across the sky. After several seconds, the object disappeared.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Qiqihar meteorological bureau told Jimu Xinwen that it knows nothing about the object and cannot explain this phenomenon. "We have not been notified about any maneuvers or drills," the portal cited an officer of the city’s air defense headquarters.

The city of Qiqihar has a population of around 4.1 million and is located 400 kilometers from the border with Russia.
