St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo cancels 17 flights amid abnormal atmospheric pressure

ST. PETERSBURG, February 7. /TASS/. A total of 17 flights were cancelled from St. Petersburg’s Pulkovo Airport due to abnormal atmospheric pressure, according to the airport’s online schedule.

Five Rossiya flights to Moscow were cancelled, and four - delayed.

The RusLine company said it had to correct its flight schedule due to unfavorable weather conditions, cancelling or postponing flights to and from Pulkovo, including St. Petersburg - Tambov and St. Petersburg - Kazan.

Atmospheric pressure in St. Petersburg was abnormally high on February 7, beating the previous record for February, recorded in 2012. According to meteorologist Alexander Kolesov, the pressure will continue to grow, reaching its peak on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday, and will then start to gradually subside.
