Russia-ASEAN Business Forum to be held as part of summit in Kazan on June 17-19

KAZAN, April 29. /TASS/. The Russia-ASEAN Business Forum will be held as part of the Russia-ASEAN Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Kazan from June 17 to 19, 2026, Roscongress announced on its website.

"In line with the Russian Federation Presidential Decree No. 268 dated 21 April 2026, preparations are underway for the Russia-ASEAN Summit to be held in Kazan on 17-19 June 2026, which will feature the high-profile Russia-ASEAN Business Forum on its sidelines. The event will bring together the Association’s leaders, CEOs of international organizations, foreign officials, leaders of major businesses, and key representatives of the business, expert, and media communities," the statement reads.

Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Russia-ASEAN Summit, noted that the forum's agenda will "include matters of cooperation within the EAEU-ASEAN partnership."

"The Forum will become a strategic step toward creating the optimal conditions for the development of trade and economic ties, as well as for diversifying the formats and areas of cooperation between Russia and Southeast Asia," he was quoted as saying in the statement.

ASEAN consists of Brunei, East Timor, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, and the Philippines. The previous Russia-ASEAN Summit was held in 2021 as a video conference.

This year's summit will be held on the 35th anniversary of relations between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Russia last hosted the forum in 2016 in Sochi.
