Production of passenger cars in Russia down 67% in 2022 to 450,000 units, says Rosstat

The production of trucks fell by 24.3% in January-December 2022 year-on-year to 141,000 units

MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. The production of passenger cars in Russia dropped by 67% in 2022 compared with 2021 to 450,000 units, Russia’s Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported on Wednesday.

In December 2022, 40,300 cars were produced, 68% lower than in December 2021, but 70% higher than in November 2022.

The production of trucks fell by 24.3% in January-December 2022 year-on-year to 141,000 units. In December, 15,300 units were produced, 25.5% lower than in December 2021, but 35.9% higher than in November 2022.
