Gazprombank to open ruble accounts for gas buyers from unfriendly states

According to the document, the Bank of Russia should within ten days determine the procedure for opening of special currency accounts for foreign gas buyers

MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. Gazprombank will open special accounts in rubles for gas buyers from unfriendly states and will sell currency for conversion to rubles for gas payments during trading sessions at the Moscow Exchange, according to the presidential decree posted on the Kremlin’s website.

"Gazprombank, being the authorized bank for purposes of this order, will open special ruble accounts of K type and special currency accounts of K type on the basis of applications of foreign buyers for payments for supplied natural gas," the document says.

"The authorized bank shall on the basis of an order of a foreign buyer received in the manner set forth by rules of the authorized bank sell foreign currency received from the foreign buyer at such account during organized trading performed by Moscow Exchange," the decree says.

The Bank of Russia should within ten days determine the procedure for opening of special currency accounts for foreign gas buyers, according to the document.
