WASHINGTON, November 7. /TASS/. Russia is committed to resolving the conflict in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump said.

"Russia and Ukraine, for the first time, I think want settlement," he told journalists.

Russia has repeatedly stated its readiness to negotiate the Ukrainian conflict. Speaking at Valdai on October 1, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the situation around Ukraine is not a matter of a "piece of land" for Moscow, but a matter of people. Russia needs to create conditions not for a truce, but for lasting peace, "for a long historical perspective"; Russia "needs security guarantees," Putin said.
