Israel targets three more Hamas commanders in Gaza — statement

"The battalion's operatives played a significant role in the invasion and murderous attack against Israel on October 7," the statement reads

TEL AVIV, October 26. /TASS/. Israel has carried out an airstrike on the Gaza Strip, targeting three commanders of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

According to the IDF, the three were "senior Hamas operatives in its Daraj Tuffah Battalion."

"The Daraj Tuffah Battalion "is considered the most significant brigade" of Hamas, the statement said, adding: "The battalion's operatives played a significant role in the invasion and murderous attack against Israel on October 7."

Tensions in the Middle East flared up again after Hamas militants infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7. The Palestinian movement described its attack as a response to the actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Jerusalem's Temple Mount. Israel announced a total blockade of Gaza and started carrying out strikes on the Palestinian enclave, as well as on certain areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank.
