ASTANA, March 14. /TASS/. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Russian Ambassador Alexey Borodavkin and noted the importance of this year’s upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan, the Kazakh presidential office said in a statement on Tuesday.
"As he spoke with Ambassador of the Russian Federation Alexey Borodavkin, the head of state noted the importance of the upcoming visit of President Vladimir Putin to Kazakhstan this year, as well as the holding of the 19th Forum of Interregional Cooperation in Kostanay in the fall of this year," the statement said.
Another issue that came up during discussions at the meeting was the current state and prospects of the Kazakh-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership.
That same day, the Kazakh president held a meeting with China’s Ambassador Zhang Xiao. The sides noted the relevance of the Central Asia + China summit, which will be held in Xi'an in May 2023, as well as the planned state visit of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China.
"Emphasis was placed on the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations, as well as expanding economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties. The head of state highly appreciated the peacemaking efforts of Chinese President Xi Jinping for a political settlement of the situation around Ukraine," the presidential office said.
