Erdogan insists on plans to set up security zone in southern Turkey

The Turkish president noted about a 30 kilometer security zone along the country's southern borders

ANKARA, August 25. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reiterated on Thursday Ankara’s plans to run a cross-border operation in Syria.

"We will continue our fight against terrorist organizations until we ensure there is a 30 kilometer security zone along our southern borders <…>. I’d like to proclaim that again to the entire world," Erdogan said, addressing a ceremony in the province of Bitlis in the country’s southeast.
