No reason for Ukrainian conflict to turn into nuclear war, Pentagon says

It was stated that there's no reason for the current conflict in Ukraine to get to that level at all

NEW YORK, April 26. /TASS/. There is no reason for the conflict in Ukraine to get to the level of a nuclear war, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby told CNN on Tuesday.

"Now, one thing I will give Mr. Lavrov is that a nuclear war cannot be won, and it shouldn't be fought. There's no reason for the current conflict in Ukraine to get to that level at all. And we're watching this very closely," he said.

"As you know, we've talked about this before. We don't see anything out there that would make us change our strategic nuclear deterrent posture and our ability to defend the homeland or those of our allies and partners," Kirby added.
