MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Italian and Russian theaters have launched a five-year exchange program for opera singers, Italian ambassador in Moscow Agostino Pinna said on Wednesday.
The idea of this culture exchange experience emerged last year as the 50th anniversary of Milan’s iconic opera house La Scala first concert in Russia was celebrated.
This October singers of Russia’s Bolshoi Theater, Moscow Conservatory and La Scala Theatre Academy took part in the exchange program.
"Russian opera singers are more interested in going to Italy," Pinna said. "But Italian guests are also satisfied as they can get valuable experience in Russia."
As for now, culture ministries of both countries do not take part in the program.
"We informed the ministries, but they are not participating yet," he said.
