KIEV, April 22. /TASS/. Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Aleksey Danilov said that opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk is currently being questioned.

"He is making statements now, telling about everything that was going on, whom he worked with, how he was making money, and so on," he said in an interview with the Ukrainian Obshchestvennoye media outlet published on Friday.

The official noted that he was not against exchanging Medvedchuk, but he has to be questioned first to obtain information. "I do not see in this (the exchange - TASS) anything unusual. But first there is questioning, questioning, questioning so that we find out what and how went on, who was doing what, when it happened," he noted.

On April 12, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced that Medvedchuk had been detained and posted pictures of a man who looked like him in handcuffs. At the same time, Zelensky made a proposal to exchange the politician for Ukrainian prisoners of war.
