MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin, together with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, will visit the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia’s Amur Region on Cosmonautics Day on Tuesday. A bilateral meeting of the leaders is planned, after which they will talk to reporters.
This will be the first regional trip of the Russian President this year.
According to the Kremlin press service, Putin will present state awards to cosmonauts and, together with Lukashenko, he will meet with workers at the cosmodrome. After that, the leaders will hold talks to discuss bilateral relations and promoting integration cooperation within the framework of the Union State.
According to the Belarusian side reported, during his visit to Vostochny, Lukashenko plans to discuss joint measures of the two states to counter sanctions pressure from the collective West.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained earlier that the presidents will also discuss the situation around Ukraine. At the same time, the signing of joint documents does not appear to be on the meeting’s agenda.
In addition, Putin will hold working meetings with Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin and the Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov.
