Russian forces launch operations to liberate Mirnoye community in Donbass region

According to military expert Andrey Marochko, the Russian troops have improved their tactical position and advanced on the right bank of the Zherebets River

LUGANSK, February 21. /TASS/. Russian forces have expanded the area under their control near Yampolovka and started battles for the liberation of Mirnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS on Friday.

"The area under control west of Yampolovka has been expanded. This has enabled [Russian] troops to come close to the settlement of Mirnoye from two sides at once: from the north and the east. As of now, operations have begun to liberate that settlement," Marochko said.

In their active combat operations, the Russian troops have improved their tactical position and advanced on the right bank of the Zherebets River south of the settlement of Ivanovka, he added.
