MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Moscow is reportedly nearing the objectives of its special military operation, while the Ukrainian army faces potential collapse, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin stated.
"The situation on the front lines is not in Kiev’s favor. We hold the initiative in all areas and are close to achieving our goals, while the Ukrainian armed forces are on the verge of collapse and the Zelensky regime has lost its legitimacy, along with the ability to make agreements," he pointed out in an interview with Razvedchik (or Scout) magazine.
According to Naryshkin, all attempts to create instability in Russia have failed. "The people understand that we are not fighting against the Kiev junta but against the collective West, and our freedom and sovereignty are at stake in this confrontation," the SVR chief noted.
"The West’s strategic goal in the Ukraine conflict was perfectly clear — to impose a war of attrition on us in order to divide Russian society and create conditions for a ‘color revolution.’ That said, they will fight ‘until the last Ukrainian,’ and once there are no Ukrainians left, the Baltic nations, the Eastern Europeans, and later, the Germans will be forced to join the fight against ‘the scary Russian bear,’" Naryshkin noted. "The globalist powers already have the technologies they need to brainwash common people and put pressure on local elites," he added.
The SVR director emphasized that a further escalation of tensions "will not only fail to deplete Russia’s resources, which is what Washington and London are aiming for, but will bring the West closer to its own defeat." "Despite sanctions and the theft of our sovereign assets, the Russian economy is growing, and import substitution efforts continue at a high pace, particularly in technology sectors," he observed. "New logistics routes are emerging, and our economic ties with non-Western countries, primarily in Greater Eurasia, are strengthening," Naryshkin concluded.
