MOSCOW, November 16. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
"Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 plane near the city of Krasnoarmeisk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said in a statement.
Russian forces eliminate 110 Ukrainian troops in Kupyansk area over past day
Russian forces repelled three Ukrainian army attacks in the Kupyansk area, eliminating roughly 110 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the western battlegroup conducted active operations with the support of aircraft and artillery fire and repelled three attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 30th and 67th mechanized brigades in areas near the settlements of Sinkovka and Zagoruikovka in the Kharkov Region. The enemy’s losses amounted to 110 personnel, a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles and a US-made M777 artillery system," the ministry said.
Russian forces repulse Ukrainian attack in Krasny Liman area over past day
Russian forces repulsed a Ukrainian army attack in the Krasny Liman area, killing and wounding roughly 175 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, units of the battlegroup Center, army aircraft strikes and artillery fire repulsed an attack by an assault group of the 12th Azov special operations brigade [outlawed in Russia as a terrorist organization] near the settlement of Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
Russian forces also inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s personnel and military hardware in the area of the settlement of Torskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Serebryansky forestry. The enemy’s losses amounted to "175 personnel killed and wounded, two pickup trucks and two US-made M777 artillery systems," the ministry reported.

Russian forces repulsed 14 Ukrainian army attacks in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the southern battlegroup in interaction with aircraft and artillery repulsed 14 attacks and inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s manpower and equipment in areas near the settlements of Kleshcheyevka, Artyomovo, Georgiyevka and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy lost as many as 240 troops killed and wounded, a tank and three motor vehicles in that direction in the past 24 hours," the ministry said.
In counter-battery fire, Russian forces destroyed a US-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, two Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery guns, three US-made M777 artillery systems and an MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun, the ministry specified.

Russian forces inflicted damage on two Ukrainian army brigades in the south Donetsk area, eliminating roughly 70 enemy troops and two artillery guns over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the south Donetsk direction, units of the battlegroup East in interaction with army aircraft and artillery inflicted damage by firepower on the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 79th air assault brigade and 128th territorial defense brigade in areas near the settlements of Konstantinovka and Ugledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The enemy’s losses in the south Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 70 personnel, two armored combat vehicles and two pickup trucks, the ministry specified.
"In counter-battery fire, a Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery gun and a UK-made FH70 howitzer were destroyed," it said.
Russian forces destroy 100 Ukrainian troops in Zaporozhye area over past day
Russian forces inflicted damage on three Ukrainian army brigades in the Zaporozhye area, destroying roughly 100 enemy troops and an artillery system over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian battlegroup, air strikes and artillery fire inflicted damage on the personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 33rd, 116th and 118th mechanized brigades in areas near the settlements of Rabotino, Uspenovka and Malaya Tokmachka in the Zaporozhye Region. The enemy’s losses in that direction amounted to 100 personnel, two tanks, two armored combat vehicles and a Giatsint-B field gun," the ministry said.

Russian forces destroyed a Ukrainian command post in the Zaporozhye area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"A command post of the Ukrainian army’s 128th mountain assault brigade was destroyed near the settlement of Dimitrovo in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said.

Russian forces destroyed roughly 70 Ukrainian troops and two US-made artillery guns in the Kherson area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kherson direction, as many as 70 personnel and two motor vehicles were destroyed in the past 24 hours as a result of damage inflicted on the enemy by firepower," the ministry said.
In counter-battery fire, Russian forces "destroyed an M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery gun and an M777 artillery system of US manufacture and a Msta-B howitzer" in the Kherson direction over the past 24 hours, it said.
Russian air defenses intercept 2 HIMARS rockets, destroy 26 Ukrainian UAVs in past day
Russian air defense forces intercepted two rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, an American JDAM smart bomb and destroyed 26 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Air defense capabilities intercepted two HIMARS rockets and a JDAM air guided bomb of US manufacture. In addition, they destroyed 26 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Novoandreyevka and Lipovoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Mirnoye, Romanovskoye and Pavlovka in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said.
During the last 24-hour period, operational/tactical and army aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces inflicted damage on Ukrainian troops and military hardware in 132 areas, it said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 536 Ukrainian warplanes, 254 helicopters, 8,960 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 surface-to-air missile systems, 13,426 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,184 multiple rocket launchers, 7,121 field artillery guns and mortars and 15,312 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the ministry reported.
