West wants to nab frozen Russian assets to finance arms supplies to Kiev — diplomat

It was noted that the West is obviously seeking to protract and aggravate the conflict and is planning to use Russia’s money for that

UNITED NATIONS, November 14. /TASS/. Western countries have long been wanting to unfreeze Russia’s sanctioned assets to finance arms supplies to Kiev, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations said on Monday.

"We have no doubt where they plan to take the funds for the so-called reparation of damage from. The West is sparing no effort to give a veneer of legality to its actions to begin to spend the frozen, but, as a matter of fact, stolen assets worth hundreds of billions of dollars," he said at a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly emergency session on Ukraine’s draft resolution on "reparations" to Kiev.

"They have long been wanting to unfreeze them, but not in order to return them to their rightful owner, not to spend them on assistance to Ukraine, but to finance their constantly growing weapons supplies to Kiev and repay debts for already delivered arms," he said.

"This way, the West is obviously seeking to protract and aggravate the conflict and is planning to use Russia’s money for that," Nebenzya noted. "It needs a corresponding General Assembly resolution as a cover for blatant robbery. Such a development of the situation will only add to tension and instability in the world whereas its beneficiaries will be Western military corporations, which have already profited billions of dollars from arms supplies to Ukraine.".
