Russia’s ASE signs contract with Korean KHNP on El Dabaa NPP

It is noted that the Korean side will be involved in outfitting sites for all four power unit of the nuclear power plant

CAIRO, August 25. /TASS/. Atomstroiexport (ASE), an engineering division of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, signed a contract with Korea’s KHNP for construction of turbine islands for El Dabaa nuclear power plant (NPP) power unit in Egypt, TASS reports from the scene.

The ceremony was held in the capital of Egypt. "KHNP joined our friendly and coordinated team," ASE Senior VP Alexander Korchagin said at the ceremony. The success in implementing the El Dabaa NPP project will be achieved "owing to well-orchestrated joint work of Russian, Egyptian and Korean teams," the top manager said.

The contract stipulates engagement of the Korean company in construction and outfitting of a special area where turbine island facilities and auxiliary structures are located. The Korean side will be involved in outfitting sites for all four power unit of the nuclear power plant. 44 auxiliary structures are anticipated to be built.
