The Empty movement was initiated in New York by instagram user Dave Krugman who invited several people to explore Metropolitan Museum of Art while it was closed for the tourists. Later the event participants shared their photos on Instagram with the hashtag #emptymet. Project turned successful and now the movement is spreading around the world. Several Russian cultural institutions have already participated in it. Bolshoi Theatre, Hermitage State Museum and Tretyakov Gallery opened their empty halls for Russian Instagram users.
