Russia ready to open vehicle service centers in Africa — minister

African specialists could undergo training to work with sophisticated diagnostic systems and equipment

MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. Russia is not only ready to supply motor vehicles to Africa but also to deploy a network of service centers for seamless supplies of spare parts, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said at the Russia-Africa forum.

"Our task, as I have already said, is not only limited to selling vehicles. We are ready to deploy a network of service centers across African countries to ensure an uninterrupted supply of spare parts," he said.

On this basis, African specialists could undergo training to work with sophisticated diagnostic systems and equipment. "Such an approach would guarantee the promptness of repairs and the maximum service life of the Russian vehicles supplied to African markets," Alikhanov stressed.

Over the past four years, Russian truck maker Kamaz alone has supplied over 500 vehicles to African markets, while GAZ and Ural are also successfully promoting their products. At the same time, supply volumes could be multiple times higher, the minister noted.
