Russia, Iran continue addressing swap supplies of oil, gas, says Novak

Earlier, Alexander Novak stated that Moscow and Tehran could reach an agreement on swap supplies of oil and gas

MOSCOW, February 10. /TASS/. Russia and Iran continue developing the issue of swap supplies of oil and gas, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"Technical possibilities are being addressed, which is why this is regarded as a promising project," he said.

Earlier, Novak told reporters that Moscow and Tehran could reach an agreement on swap supplies of oil and gas, adding that the first stage might suggest the supplies of 5 mln tons of oil and up to 10 bln cubic meters of gas.

Deputy PM noted that the sides were developing technical details. The Iranian side has already suggested that Russia provide swap supplies of gas through its territory, similar to those flowing from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan via Iran’s territory.
