Turbine for Nord Stream 1 delayed due to Canada’s sanctions — Siemens

Turbines require regular repair for smooth operation

BERLIN, June 14. /TASS/. One of gas turbines for the Nord Stream 1 gas pipelines cannot be returned to Germany from Montreal because of Canada’s sanctions against Russia, a spokesperson of Siemens Energy told TASS.

Gazprom had to lower natural gas supplies over the Nord Stream q pipeline against the schedule due to untimely return of gas pumping units from repair by Siemens, the Russian gas holding said on Tuesday.

"It is impossible for Siemens Energy to deliver repaired gas turbines to clients in the light of sanctions introduced by Canada," the spokesperson said. Governments of Canada and Germany were informed about the situation and the search for the solution is underway, she added.

Turbines require regular repair for smooth operation, Siemens Energy said. One of the turbines was delivered to Montreal because it was possible to perform maintenance only there.
