Russian company supplied 18 engines to India’s HAL

The AL-55E engine was developed specifically for the Indian single-engine trainer aircraft HJT-36, with its upgraded version known as the Yashas

MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. The United Engine Corporation (UEC) delivered eighteen AL-55E engines to India’s HAL for certification tests as part of new HJT-36 trainer aircraft, UEC said.

"The successful completion of certification tests will make it possible to progress to organizing licensed production of the AL-55E at HAL corporation plants," the company informed. UEC plans to broaden its cooperation with India, it added.

The AL-55E engine was developed specifically for the Indian single-engine trainer aircraft HJT-36, with its upgraded version known as the Yashas. The modern double-channel digital engine control system provides for flight safety.
