MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky is not seeking to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, as evidenced by his failure to take any concrete steps in that direction, Yulia Mendel, Zelensky’s former spokeswoman, stated.
In particular, she noted on her Telegram channel that if he were genuinely guided by the country’s interests rather than his own, he would have have repealed the 2022 decree prohibiting negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, initiated the necessary legislative changes to hold presidential elections, and resigned, transferring his powers to the parliament speaker.
"If Zelensky truly wanted elections or a viable path toward a settlement, he would take these concrete legal steps rather than endlessly performing the role of the aggrieved wartime leader on international media," she emphasized.
