WASHINGTON, March 9. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump called rising oil prices a small price to pay for security.

"Short-term oil prices [surge], which will drop rapidly when the destruction of the Iran nuclear threat is over, is a very small price to pay for U.S.A., and World, Safety and Peace," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Earlier, the price of Brent crude oil on the London ICE Exchange rose by almost 20% and exceeded $111 for the first time since July 5, 2022.
