LONDON, October 1. /TASS/. The newly announced package of anti-Russian sanctions is illegal and senseless, merely demonstrating London’s reliance on escalation over dialogue, according to a commentary released by the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom.
"London continues its pointless sanctions exercises against our country. This time, illegal restrictions have been imposed on commercial vessels, as well as Russian citizens and organizations, whom the British authorities – without providing evidence – accuse of violating the rights of Ukrainians and the 'militarization' of children," the diplomatic mission said.
"The 'children issue' is being exploited with particular cynicism – now under the pretext that Russia is allegedly indoctrinating 'millions of minors' in the new regions and stripping them of their identity," the embassy noted, pointing out that such claims "do not stand up to scrutiny."
As the Russian diplomats stated, "the British government’s reliance on sanctions pressure and escalation instead of dialogue merely confirms its lack of interest in a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict."
