ST. PETERSBURG, June 24 /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky’s presidential term expired long ago, and under international law he can't receive the protections bestowed upon that office, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
Commenting on the situation in Ukraine, Medvedev said the people have not been given the opportunity to exercise their lawful voting rights as Zelensky continues to act as president despite his term having expired.
"The presidential seat has been usurped by an individual whose mandate expired long ago, and under international law this fact deprives him of any immunity," the politician pointed out.
