MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Namibian Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Peya Mushelenga, who has arrived in Moscow, have entered into negotiations.
The talks are taking place just four days after a terrorist attack in the Moscow Region, which did not leave the Namibian side indifferent. President Nangolo Mbumba offered condolences to Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he joined the world community in condemning this heinous act. Security issues, the fight against terrorism, which also affects the African continent, will certainly be in focus.
Lavrov and Mushelenga are to discuss bilateral cooperation in the economy, culture and tourism and identify opportunities for new joint projects. They will also touch upon coordination in the international arena.
The Russian Foreign Ministry has said Russia and Namibia have established constructive cooperation in the UN. Namibia generally supports Russian initiatives and traditionally votes for Russian draft resolutions of the UN General Assembly on cyber security, disarmament and non-proliferation, international information security, new threats and measures to counter the glorification of Nazism.
