MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has called statements by supporters of Alexey Navalny about the Kremlin's alleged pressure on Navalny's mother 'absurd.'
"These are absolutely absurd statements," Peskov told reporters.
He pointed out that virtually all of these Navalny supporters "are wanted in one way or another, virtually all of them are abroad." "Therefore, their statements should be treated accordingly," the spokesman pointed out.
Peskov emphasized that "the Kremlin has nothing to do" with the issues of Navalny's burial. "Accordingly, the Kremlin can not exert pressure," he stressed. "This is absolutely not our business and not our prerogative," he reiterated. The spokesman pointed out that "the head of state does not regulate these issues in any way." "There are certain services, certain procedures that are carried out according to the established rules for such situations," Peskov explained.
The Federal Penitentiary Service’s Directorate for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region said on February 16 that Navalny had died in a penal colony.
