According to the head of state, "in the next few years, three more Borei-A strategic missile carrying submarines are to be lowered from the stocks of the iconic Sevmash and handed over to the Navy as part of the state arms program"

SEVERODVINSK /Arkhangelsk Region/, December 11. /TASS/. Russia's naval power will be further strengthened, with three Borei-A class strategic nuclear-powered submarines to be launched in the coming years, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Work to enhance Russia's naval power will certainly continue," the president said at a flag-hoisting ceremony on the nuclear-powered submarines Emperor Alexander III and Krasnoyarsk at the Sevmash shipyard.

According to him, "in the next few years, three more Borei-A strategic missile carrying submarines are to be lowered from the stocks of the iconic Sevmash and handed over to the Navy as part of the state arms program."

The president congratulated naval officers and shipbuilders of Sevmash "on today’s major event," thanking the shipyard’s team for their professionalism and dedication in wishing the crews of the submarines good service in the interests of the Russian people and the state.
