MOSCOW, February 3. /TASS/. The new regions of Russia are not yet fully protected from threats, so the special military operation is continuing. At the same time, Crimea is already reliably protected, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Friday.

In this way he commented on reports that Ukraine’s Interior Ministry had begun to form new assault brigades for offensive operations, including those against Donbass and Crimea.

"Donbass is not fully protected yet, so the special military operation is continuing. Actually, we must protect the people who live there. For now, this goal has not been fully achieved. This is still to be done," Peskov said, when asked if these territories were protected well enough and if the Kremlin saw Kiev’s statement as a threat.

At the same time, he noted that "the security of Crimea is ensured reliably."
